What's better than Marble?

Get the look of luxury with porcelain. Porcelain tile can be manufactured to look exactly like marble. You get all the beauty—soft veining, luxurious color tones, and polished elegance—without the fragility and upkeep that real marble demands. Plus, you don’t have to worry about sealing it constantly to maintain its looks.

Why is Porcelain the best tile for bathrooms?

It's Slip Resistant

Bathrooms are prone to water spills and steam, making slip resistance a critical factor. Unlike polished stone or glazed ceramic, porcelain tiles can be finished with textured surfaces or matte coatings that provide excellent grip underfoot—even when wet. These anti-slip finishes are built into the tile during manufacturing, making them safer for families, kids, and older adults.

Its Stain Resistant

Porcelain is a non-porous material, which means it doesn’t absorb water or spills. This makes it highly resistant to stains from makeup, soap, hard water, or anything else that might hit your bathroom floor or walls. Unlike marble, which can easily stain and etch from acidic products, porcelain holds up beautifully with minimal maintenance.

It’s Less Expensive

Marble and other natural stones are expensive because they must be quarried, cut, and transported, often from overseas. Porcelain, on the other hand, is man-made from abundant natural materials like clay and sand, making it much more affordable. Plus, since it's easier to maintain and doesn’t require sealing, the lifetime cost of porcelain is significantly lower.

The washroom pictured above has a dark gray porcelain with a mixture of darker black, some lighter brown and white veining. This Italian Porcelain is rich in colour and looks sophisticated.

It's Durable

Porcelain is fired at extremely high temperatures, which makes it denser, harder, and more durable than ceramic and many natural stones. It's scratch-resistant, wear-resistant, and can stand up to heavy foot traffic without showing signs of wear. That means it stays looking new for years—even decades—with minimal upkeep.
